I
am no philosopher, theologian, or even an author. I am just a wife and mommy to
3 beautiful children. I don’t have it all together, I make mistakes, and have
regrets. But I am a daughter of a loving, gracious, almighty God who created me
in His own image and tells me in His word that I am fearfully, wonderfully, and
beautifully made. Because of this amazing love, I have trusted Him to teach me
what is most important in this journey of life. He is teaching me to live LIFE
with an eternal perspective. Not to get caught up in the busyness and hustle
and bustle, but to take time each day to enjoy the simple, the mundane, and the
time I have here on earth. He is shaping me into someone who worries less about
what the world deems important or successful, and more into someone who values
what is of eternal significance. So how do we live LIFE with an eternal
perspective? Here is how the Heavenly Father is teaching me to live LIFE…
L—Living
Every Day
I—Intentionally

F—Finding

E—Every

Living
Every Day
Our flesh and sinful nature can so
easily distract and divide us and keep us from fully loving one another. “Three
things that will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these
is love.” (1 Corinthians 13:13) Purpose each day to love. Be intentional in
finding ways to share God’s love. Smile, serve others, make sacrifices, and be
kind. Pouring love into others encourages them to live well. It’s the spiritual
gas that keeps us from running on empty. So fill each other’s love tanks by
intentionally loving every day.

Finding
Joy
“This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24) As I stated before, I am far from perfect and finding joy can be a struggle for me amidst the chaos of raising three young children. However, thankfulness has become a tool that enables me to find joy in the mundane, in the chaos, in uncertain times, and in trials. “It is God’s will that we be thankful and joyful in all circumstances.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18) Why? Because when we fix our minds on what is good and count our blessings, it does something to our hearts. Gratitude compels our hearts to exude joy.

Every
Moment
Life is a beautiful gift. Every moment is unique. It changes constantly and is fleeting. This quote that I have seen flying around Pinterest exemplifies the need to cherish every moment and it applies to us as mothers as well, “Today will never come again. Be a blessing. Be a friend. Encourage someone. Take time to care. Let your words heal and not despair.” Ouch! I need to print that out and hang it in my home because all too often the stress of raising God’s children results in not so pretty mommy moments. Psalms 90:12 says, “Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.” Wisdom equips us to experience life and live it in a way that brings glory and honor to our Heavenly Father. I am so thankful that the Lord is continuously growing me, molding me, and teaching me what is really important in life. I am blessed beyond measure. Not with wealth, fame, or status, but with Jesus, love, family, and the wisdom that comes from God’s word and walking with Him daily. The journey of learning to live every day, intentionally loving, and finding joy in every moment is genuinely a gift from God.
