A Small But Divine Message

"My flesh and heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." Psalm 73:26

This wasn't just a random couple at the park. This man and his wife were strategically placed there by our faithful, loving God. Sent by Him to give me this message...

Have you ever just felt spent? Completely drained from giving of yourself? This morning, while on a run, I was feeling sort of blah...tired...physically, emotionally, and spiritually exhausted. I almost felt like I had nothing more to give. We all give of ourselves everyday. Whether you are a mom, work with children, or serve others in some capacity, you give of yourself. If you are in the business of giving sacrificially, this message I'm about to share wasn't just for me...it is for you too!

This past Friday was a beautiful day and I decided to take the kids to Freedom Park to enjoy the great outdoors. There weren't many people there. While playing with the kids, I noticed a sweet older couple sitting on a bench. They were there with their grandchildren. As I began packing the kids up to leave, the gentleman came up to me and gave me a slip of paper with his email address. He introduced himself and told me he was there with his family and was a member of the park board. He had a camera around his neck and told me that he thought he got a good picture of me and my son going down the slide. He told me to email him, and he would send it to me. So yesterday I sent him an email and told him I would love to see the picture he took. This morning, while on my run, I got an email from him. He attached 3 pictures with this short, but powerful message..."YOU ARE A GOOD MOM." Wow! The Lord knew exactly what I needed to hear, and He spoke through this man. Micah 7:8 says, "When I fall, I shall rise, and when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me." This morning, I was sitting in a little bit of darkness...worn out, tired, running on empty from pouring out and serving my family. But he filled me back up in this special moment with His light. 

I had to share this beautiful story with you so that you could see this small example of how amazing our God is. He loves us so much that He arranges these divine instances to reveal His love, power, faithfulness, and goodness to us. 

This little experience inspired me to bring you a message of encouragement. When God created you, He said, "It is good." Just as He spoke to me through the kind stranger, I am passing this message onto you. He thinks YOU ARE GOOD! He loves you so much. He is for YOU and He is fighting for YOU. Seek Him and you will find Him at work in your life. Take time to listen for His message. When your flesh and heart fail, and you are struggling from exhaustion, worry, guilt, anxiety, or feelings of inadequacy, lean on God. He is the strength of our hearts and our portions forever!

Heavenly Father, I pray a special blessing for all of my friends reading this post. I ask that you reveal yourself to them in a special way. Send them the message of love and encouragement that you want them to hear. Fill them up with your love and your light. Amen.
